30 Day Geek Out Challenge…in 1 Day

This week I found a 30 Day Geek Out Challenge and I thought, wow, I could totally do that! But then I remember that I work full-time and have a newborn baby so realistically doing this for 30 straight days? Yeah, probably not going to happen. So then I thought I would just answer all 30 for today’s post. Enjoy!

Growing up I remember really loving X-Men: The Animated Series, any kind of Disney movie, and Xena: Warrior Princess. Definitely obsessed with those three.

Hmm, I’d say my most recent fandom is thr Elder Scrolls? I had a late introduction and didn’t even play Skyrim until 2017 😱. Now I’m just anxiously awaiting any kind of news for Elder Scrolls 6.

I’ve only been to one convention. While I’d love to make it into a family vacation in the future, I remember my brother and I going to some kind of Star Trek convention with my grandpa when we were kids.

Well, there’s probably a few things. In high school during spirit week we had Super Hero Day so I dressed up like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and carried around a cardboard stake and a vial of holy water.

Do video games count?

Growing up I loved Sailor Moon. I can’t wait to introduce it to my daughter.

I could watch Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter over and over again and never get sick of them.

I mean I have to go with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After the TV series ended, they continued the story in comic book form.

This is a toughie. Nostalgia tells me Super Mario 3, but for more recent games I absolutely love Dying Light and Minecraft.

I would love to be able to travel wherever I want in the blink of an eye.

Ravenclaw and proud

Silent Hill and Resident Evil

Skyrim, it’s literally perfection

That’s a tough one. I think if I could only pick one it would have to be Hagrid.

The Lost in Space reboot on Netflix

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

I think especially in my adolescence it was just nice to know that I wasn’t alone in my weirdness and even if the characters I loved were fictional, I felt like I knew them.

Frodo: I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

I love how excited and passionate people are when sharing their favorite things in geek culture. Even if it’s something I may not necessarily be interested in, I’m excited to hear about it because of how excited they are.

There can be a lot of toxicity in some fandoms (I’m looking at you Star Wars). Like y’all need to relax and let people enjoy things.

A different type of geekiness but I love Bailey Sarian. She features makeup and true crime, which are two things I love.

The underrated Hunchback of Notre Dame and Tangled

Gotta be Batman!

Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings

Oh God, hopefully not something with my boobs out. I just wanna look like Totoro if I have to be an animated character.

Easy. Harry Potter. It was our wedding theme.

Well if you made it this far, congrats! I encourage you to do this challenge and post it in the comments!
