Let’s Talk: South Park!

Hello everybody and a happy weekend to all. This week I wanted to talk about a game that’s honestly surprised me with how well it’s all put together. Today we are gonna talk a little about the South Park games. I never thought i would enjoy an RPG as much as I have these last few days. Trey Parker and Matthew Stone really went all out on the Stick of Truth; but they went to the moon and back with The Fractured But Hole.

I hope the small tidbits of information here will lead you to your local game store to pick up a copy of either one. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. South Park: The Stick of Truth is a 2014 role-playing video game by Obsidian Entertainment and collaboration with South Park Digital Studios and published by Ubisoft. Inspired by the American adult animated television series South Park the game follows the New Kid, who has moved to the eponymous town and becomes involved in an epic role-play fantasy war involving humans, wizards, and elves, who are fighting for control of the all-powerful Stick of Truth.

Their game quickly escalates out of control and brings them into conflict with aliens, Nazi Zombies and gnomes, threatening the entire town with destruction. The Stick if Truth isn’t the one I wanted to lull focus on today though. Today, let’s talk about is sequel, South Park: The Fractured But Hole. Right out of the gate the title makes me giggle every time I read it. The game’s narrative occurs one day after the events of its predecessor; it follows the New Kid, who has recently moved to South Park and becomes involved in an epic roleplay involving two rival superhero factions vying to create their own superhero media franchises. The superheroes’ game unintentionally uncovers a conspiracy to raise crime in the town, bringing them into conflict with supervillains, genetically engineered monsters, the police, crime families, and the new kingpin of crime.

I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend and hopefully by next week I will be able to give everybody an article detailing my mystery box I ordered from our sponsors over at forevergripsgaming.com.
