5 Must-Watch TikTok Cosplayers

Cosplayers are some of the most dedicated fans of any piece of media. Comics? Anime? Books? Even audio-only content like podcasts have dedicated cosplayers. Cosplays can be as simple as a t-shirt and the right spirit, but some can take an unfathomable amount of time, money, skill, and in-depth research into the character’s design. What’s important is the love of the character and the courage to let others see all of your hard work.

TikTok has become home to a vast community of cosplayers, allowing them to demonstrate their skill and passion in short videos set to sound clips. They show off not only the cosplays they’ve worked so hard on, but their embodiment of the characters. Most importantly though, they’re having fun, and we get to enjoy the results! So without further ado, I present a list of five of my must-watch TikTok cosplayers.

@shiroaka

Shiroaka has both Black Butler and My Hero Academia cosplays, and all of them are just gorgeous. She’s a master of the drop to slow-mo in order to show off a cloak, and she keeps things interesting by occasionally adding her own twists to the characters or her own original characters to the world. Her content is a blast to watch, and even if you’re not into those shows or characters (yet) you may find yourself scrolling through video after video.

@jinnkid

This one may be stretching the definition of cosplay a bit. There’s certainly more “play” than “cos” in Jinnkid’s Skyrim in Real Life series. The outfit part of his videos consist of no more than an apron, or a robe, or some green face paint, but I couldn’t not include him in this list because he’s just so fucking funny. An important part of a successful TikTok cosplay is in the portrayal of the character, and his depictions of Skyrim NPCs are more real than any full costume. After all, he does have the walk down pat. If you like Skyrim, you have to check him out.

@mythicaliity

Mythicaliity is a great place to start for fans of youtube gamers, since many of their cosplays are from games that had a large popularity as Youtube let’s play series. Their videos include characters from Bendy and the Ink Machine, FNAF, Danganronpa, Undertale, and even some of Jacksepticeye’s original characters. Their lipsync and movements are always smooth and precise, making their videos fun and entertaining.

@harley_f.quinn

Clocking in at a whopping 1.1 million followers and 21.1 million likes, Harley_f.quinn is the most popular account on this list. She’s a professional cosplayer and it shows; her portrayals of Harley are both emotional and fun without being over the top. That’s not the only character she does, though. Her cosplays of The Witcher’s Geralt, Frozen’s Elsa, and many others are worth a look as well!

@lifeasamarauder

This account in and of itself is an example of the wide variety of cosplay you can find on TikTok. The Adventure Zone? Check. The Dragon Age video game series? Yep! Jack Frost? Hell yeah. Original characters? In abundance! And of course, as their name implies, they often cosplay characters from the Harry Potter series. Remus and Sirius are the most often recurring faces, but a personal favorite of mine is their Teddy Lupin. The point is, if you’re not sure where to start, you’re bound to find something you like here.

This list took me a frankly ridiculous amount of time to write because of the plethora of funny, passionate, skilled cosplayers I had to choose from, but I can’t list every account here. You’ll have to go find them yourself. Hopefully at least one of these suggestions will give you a decent jumping-off point for finding accounts that have content you love.
